Michael Patterson – Killyleagh Bridge Club
Michael was 48 died suddenly at home on Thursday 19th February. He had been a long time member of Killyleagh Bridge Club and had a very successful bridge career which included an intermediate interprovincial win with David Scott and a big intermediate team win at the Donegal Congress with David Scott, David Lawther and Colin Carson. However probably the biggest success was reaching the Mackinnon Cup final, beating two international teams en route.
I have been friends with Michael for many years and he was as good a friend a man could have. A wonderful personality, loyal and kind beyond normal parameters. He would always help anyone, didn’t judge, always knew what to say in tough times or good. His sense of humour was also exceptional but kind.
At the minute I feel robbed of my great friend and will miss him terribly but I am also grateful for having had such a wonderful friend as part of my life for so long. Michael only ever wanted the best for us all so I know he would not have wanted to make us sad, so I will try, like everyone who knew him should, go on without him and remember him with great fondness.
RiP my Great Friend
