The Closing date for the Millership Cup has been extended to Friday 11 October 2024. The entry form for the Millership Cup can be found here. Entries are especially encouraged for this trophy which was donated by Sandie and Jeff Millership in the early 1990’s. Message from Sandie below:
The Millership Cup
“When Jeff and I first started playing bridge we played in every competition we could. Mostly with no chance of winning 😊. Over the years we realised that there was a large hole in the competition calendar with respect to the knock-out cups. There was the Hynman Cup for Juniors (now called Inter B’s) and the Kelvin & Mackinnon Cups, which were open to all players.
However, there was not a knock-out cup which the majority of the membership had a chance of winning. Therefore, in the early 1990’s, we introduced the Millership Cup as a knock-out cup for Intermediate players. A few years later it was decided to extend the entry for this cup to Seniors, below the rank of Expert.
As most of you will know, Jeff passed away, very suddenly, earlier this year. I would love to see a great turnout for this competition this year as a tribute to Jeff.“
