Sad news on the death this week of Rosarie Heatherington. She was a well-known and much-loved player in the NIBU. Rosarie taught numerous bridge classes and managed to bring her teaching expertise and sense of humour to the task. Her classes were always popular and many local bridge players started to play in local clubs because of her.
I played with Rosarie for many years and always appreciated her support and company. She treated everyone at the table with courtesy and kindness, offering advice only when requested. She never raised her voice or got irritated with her partner or the opposition. Rosarie offered us all a template of how to play bridge. In recent years her health deteriorated and we lost her valued participation at the table. Rosarie will be sadly missed.
