This European Bridge League online training program gives female players the option to step up their game, increase their Bridge self-confidence and allow them to participate in higher level competitions in Ireland and in the international Bridge arena. It’s free of charge. The first session of 2024 will take place on Wednesday, 13th of March 2024.

TELTSCHER TROPHY 2024

The Teltscher Trophy 2024 will be held at Stirling University in Scotland from 17-19 May 2024.

Junior Camrose and Peggy Bayer 2024

The NIBU hosted this event over the weekend of 16-18 February 2024 at La Mon Hotel and Country Club. Six Junior Camrose and six Peggy Bayer teams participated. The event was a great success with all Captains and Players being most complimentary of the hotel and the management team for the organisation of the event.

The Robb Cup 2024

The Robb Cup, restricted to Inter Bs and Novices, took place in Kelvin Malone Bridge Club on Wednesday 14 February 2024. Congratulations to the winners, Helena McCambridge and Sharyn Williams.

Bridge: A Mindsport for All (BAMSA)

The BAMSA B-A-M (Board a Match) is raising funds for a project on increasing youth and school bridge in the UK. Sam Punch (Scottish Bridge Union) is encouraging support for this online fun team event on 27 April. Give Board-a-match a go! BAM is great fun (1 point to win a hand, ½ point for a draw and 0 for a loss).

Ken Hawtin RIP

We are very sorry to report the death of former NIBU international player Ken Hawtin. Tribute from Ronnie Morrow below.

My earliest recollection of Ken Hawtin was meeting him many years ago, as a relatively inexperienced player, in local NIBU events. At that time he played with Jimmy Paul. They were a formidable partnership on the local bridge scene which culminated in them representing Northern Ireland in the Camrose Trophy.
