See here for information regarding the Gold Cup. It is open to teams across the UK and is one of the most prestigious competitions in British bridge.
The NIBU Senior and Intermediate leagues will be played, as last year, on Real Bridge commencing in October. Details, including links to entry form and league formats, can be viewed on the League page
Please use this link to express your interest in representing Ulster at Intermediate or Master level in the Inter-Provincial teams. It is taking place on 29th-30th November in the Knightsbrook Hotel, Trim in County Meath.
The NIBU would like to extend their congratulations to Luca Crone and Matthew O’Farrell, two Irish juniors who have just won a trophy for the top U26 pair (2nd overall) in the European Presidents Cup.
It is with great sadness that we report the death of Wilson Hanna, one of the NIBU’s oldest, longest and respected members. Wilson died peacefully at home on 7th July. He introduced many new players to bridge at Malone GC, Collegians and the Belfast Boat Club. Wilson was playing bridge at Malone GC until 3 months ago. The photograph shows him celebrating his 97th birthday earlier this year.

The Scottish Bridge Union are hosting an online Swiss Pairs event on 6th September to raise funds for Scottish Youth Bridge. Please see this flyer for details.
The meeting was held at ‘The Four Winds’ restaurant, Newtownbreda, Belfast on Sunday June 22nd.

During the meeting, Dermot O’Brien from the CBAI presented an outline into a possible merger between the two unions. The presentation can be found here.
